Bucketts Way Neighbourhood Group

Bucketts Way Neighbourhood Group Incorporated is a not-for-profit, incorporated community organisation formed in 1989 to provide a variety of community services to people in the locality of Gloucester Local Government area and the area known as the Bucketts Way Strip.

This area spans from Limeburners Creek in the south to Krambach in the east and includes the communities of Gloucester, Barrington, Stratford, Craven, Wards River, Stroud Road, Stroud, Booral, and Allworth. Bucketts Way Neighbourhood Group Inc (BWNG Inc) is an organisation governed by a volunteer Management Board voted in at the AGM by the members of the organisation.

It receives funding for its projects from the Department Of Ageing, Disability & Home Care, the Department of Community Services and the Australian Government for various projects and acknowledges their contribution for the services and programs BWNG Inc provides. The Neighbourhood Centre, aged care, disability respite, transport and all operational aspects of the organisation operates within the Bucketts Way Neighbourhood Group Inc, in a building owned by the BWNG Inc at 14 Queen Street, Gloucester, NSW, to provide a range of community services.

Bucketts Way Neighbourhood Group Inc. Services

The Bucketts Way Neighbourhood Group Inc. is home to many different services, all of which have varied sources of funding. Each program has its own Co-ordinator with associated staff and volunteers. Information on projects can be found by selecting an item from the menu on the left.

Objects of the association are:

The purpose of BWNG Inc is to render assistance in all forms of public relief and or emergency aid and to seek out and identify social needs in the community and to help coordinate the plans to fill these needs and also in some cases to provide facilities and services required in and about the Bucketts Way area.

Philosophy

Bucketts Way Neighbourhood Group Inc. believes in:

  • the right of people to make choices in their own lives;
  • the right of people to dignity, respect, privacy and confidentiality;
  • the right of people to be valued as individuals;
  • the right of people to access services on a non-discriminatory basis; and
  • the right of the community to accountable and responsive services.

Objectives

The outcomes pursued by BWNG Inc  are:

  • that people who are frail aged or disabled can remain in their own home & community;
  • that family or other primary caregivers are supported in their role;
  • that individuals are assisted in a manner that ensures independence and self reliance.
  • that social capital is valued and developed
  • to develop stronger communities via service delivery and support of individuals and groups.
  • that the organisation operates in an effective, efficient and accountable manner.
  • that the organisation upholds all contractual obligations.
